Just over 5 weeks till I leave and we have another NEW sponsor to boot. (No pun intended).
BAXTER OUTDOORS will be on board for the journey of 2014. Thank you Adam for your help in my quest of thru-hiking the A.T. in the coming weeks.

My next post will be listing all of the sponsors that have a part in this venture.

Saturday, January 18, 2014

Today is January 18th and there is just a little over 6 weeks till I leave here and head to Springer Mt. GA to start walking north to the Big "K", Katadin.
Still to do, buy food, make arrangements for lodging along the early stretch of the Trail, mail out postcards to the Post Offices to let them know when I will be there and the most important one - travel arrangements from here to there.
I have two presentations about the Trail before I go at the local Public Library and a send off party on February 23rd at the American Legion Post 153 in Auburn, ME.

Even though I have a lot to do, I know it will all come together at one time.

Enough for now, till later,

Appalachian Trail Hike of 2014

This site will be used for my hike of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) from March to August of 2014. This will be my second hike of the AT, but this time it will be a thru-hike, which means that I hike the entire length (2,186 miles) in one shot.
The first time I hiked the trail it was in four large sections in 1996 - 350 miles, 97 - 416, 98 - 513 and 99 - 889 miles to finish off the journey.
I will be entering info and events as I am able to, being that I will be in town every 3-7 days and the availability of a computer will be limited.

I will be leaving Maine on March 10th and will be heading to Georgia to stand on top of Springer Mt. on the 20th. The next morning will start the journey northward towards Katadin, to summit on August 21st. That is the goal.

Till later,
